"Wow!" Ray Kowalski exclaimed. The cold December wind whipped through his spikey blond hair. Ray and Renfield Turnbull stood on the snowy sidewalk gazing in the window of Leiger's Department store. Ray's face was pressed up against the glass, his nose flattened, as he drooled over the object of his desire.

"Look at those speakers, Renny," he sighed. "If I had those bad boys hooked up to my stereo, we'd really give the neighbors some noise to complain about."

Renny blushed prettily, thinking about the cause of the noise that had bothered the neighbors. He cleared his throat and said, "They are on sale, Ray. Only a $159.99. Perhaps you should indulge yourself."

Ray rubbed his hands together, and blew on them for warmth. "Can't do it. I maxed out my credit cards sending my folks to New Orleans for their dream Cajun Christmas."

"You're such a good son," Renny said adoringly.

"Yeah, but I'm tapped out now." Reluctantly, he turned away from the enticing electronics and started down the street. They walked for a block and then came to their destination. Miss Molly's Collectibles.

A little bell tinkled as Renny opened the door. Stepping into the knick-knack laden shop, Ray wrinkled his nose at the overwhelming scent of lilacs. Renny, on the other hand, took a deep breath and smiled happily.

Miss Molly himself, came out from the back and seeing the mountie, clapped his hands together in delight. "Constable Turnbull, how nice to see you again! Merry Christmas to you and your significant other." He waved at Ray. "What can I do for you?"

"I need a dragon."

"Stuffed or bronze?"

"Plastic, or something else not to expensive. I wanted to do a scene with Xena rescuing Gabrielle from a ferocious monster. I went to the toy stores, but you know they never have anything nice." Miss Molly nodded in sympathy. "My Xena and Gabrielle dolls are so well made that it would be an insult to have them do battle with an inferior quality beast."

"I quite understand, Constable. Let me look in the back and see what I have." With that, the pudgy little man hurried away.

Renny turned to Ray, who was fondling a stuffed Dudley Do-Right doll. Ray looked up at him and smiled suggestively.

Renny returned his smile and asked, "Would you like me to buy that for you?"

"Don't need it. Have the real thing," Ray responded, as he put the toy back on the shelf.

Renny moved toward his beloved, when his eyes fell on an object of unspeakable beauty.

"Oh my!" he whispered.

"What?" Ray asked

"Oh, oh. . " Renny reached out his hand to a box, but hesitated as if afraid that the slightest touch would destroy it.

Ray came over for a closer look. He frowned in confusion. "It's Ken."

"No Ray. It's a limited edition Gone With the Wind, Rhett Butler Ken doll," Renny corrected, his breath coming in short gasps.

"Oh yeah. You've got the Scarlett O'Hara Barbie." Ray picked up the box and handed it to his friend. "You want it? I think I got enough for a barbie doll."

The mountie carefully took it from his hand. "This doll costs $280, Ray. I'm afraid it's out of our reach." Sighing, he put it back.

"$280! For a doll?" Ray said in shock. "That's crazy! Who would pay that kind of money for a Ken doll?"

"Well Ray, it was a limited edition to begin with, and then of course, less Rhett Butler Kens were made than the Barbies." Seeing Ray's baffled expression, he explained, "It's not really about Ken, you know Ray. It's about Barbie in that beautiful green, made from the drapes, gown! Most collectors would be happy just with her. Only the true devotee would want both. I do love my Scarlett O'Hara, but I long to display them both together."

"Ah," Ray said.

"Alas, I have no money, having bought my Uncle Chester a new snowmobile for Christmas."

"That old geezer! What does he ever do for you?" Ray complained.

"He's family."

Miss Molly reappeared, with a vicious looking plastic dragon in hand. "I believe this will suit your needs, Constable Turnbull. I see you've noticed my latest acquistion! Isn't he just delicious! I'm tempted to keep him for myself."

"He is wonderful," Renny said. "Is there any possiblity that you could put him aside for me until the end of next week? I get paid then, and with all the overtime I've had lately. . "

"I'm so sorry, " the store owner interrupted. "I've got a buyer coming in tomorrow night. And well, the day after is Christmas and my mother is expecting something nice, the old dear. I hope you understand, Constable."

"Of course," Renny said, biting back his disappointment. He paid for his dragon and the two left.

As they walked along the street, Ray studied the Canadian. He desperately wanted that doll. Ray cursed himself for being broke. "I should have saved more money since this is our first Christmas together," he thought. "The collection of Roy Rogers videos that I bought him, isn't a good enough present for this big an occasion. Besides, I know that the Singing Cowboy drives him wild and I was hoping to get laid under the Christmas tree. I'm so selfish!" Ray wrapped his arms around himself, and stared at the ground in utter misery.

As they passed Leiger's, Ray's head momentarily lifted to glance at the speakers of his dreams. Renny noticed and said to himself. "Look at me; only thinking of myself. Ray deserves those speakers, not the ridiculous tapestry I wove for him of us naked, locked in eternal passion. What use will he have for that? Besides, I know how nude pictures of me turns him into a growling, wild animal and I was hoping to get laid under the Christmas tree. I'm so selfish." He moaned slightly in abject misery.

That night as the two lay tangled up in each other, Ray whispered, "Hey Renny, it's midnight. You know what that means; it's Christmas Eve!"

"Why, so it is! Even now Santa is loading up the sleigh with toys for all the good little boys and girls," Renny answered, nibbling at an ear.

"Was I a good litle boy?" Ray inquired.

"Oh my yes!" he assured him.

Pushing the mountie flat on his back, Ray straddled him. "Still it never hurts to make extra sure. I want to be on Santa's good side. I'd hate to get a lump of coal in my stocking."

He kissed Renny, plundering the luscious mouth with his tongue. Renny clutched at his lover's thin hips, grinding him against his groin.

"Mmmmmmm," moaned Ray.

"I agree," Renny whispered.

"Inside me, Big Mountie," Ray ordered, wiggling around and rubbing his ass against Renny's cock.

"You wish is my command," Renny crooned, and impaled Ray. "You're so tight, my darling," he gasped.

Ray worked him savagely, up and down, up and down, hissing, "Come on, give it to me!"

Renny dug his fingers into the pale, white flesh of Ray's hips, as he thrust into the hot passage. "Love you, Ray!" he gulped.

Pumping his cock in time to Renny's thrusts, Ray howled, "Love you always, always!"

Renny joined in on the howling as the two went over the edge into ecstasy together.

The neighbor pounded on the wall and screamed, "Shut up you perverts!"

Ray collapsed onto Renny, laughing. "He's just jealous. I bet it's been decades since he got laid like that."

Renny stroked his face lovingly. "I bet he's never been laid like that."

Ray turned over and buried his face in Renny's chest, wondering how he had ever managed to sleep before he had the mountie to lay on. Renny embraced him tightly, and closed his eyes.

"Good night, Big Mountie."

"Good night, BeanieBaby."

The last thought in both of their minds before they drifted off to sleep was a calm certainty of what they had to do tomorrow.
***************

"I don't know, Kowalski. $280 is a lot for a used stereo," Detective Thomas Dewey said doubtfully.

"C'mon Dewey, it's top of the line and I've only had it for six months," Ray encouraged. "Look, do you want it or not? 'Cause if you don't, I gotta find another buyer."

Dewey slouched at his desk. "Okay, okay. I want it . What's the big rush for? "

"I got a christmas present to buy." Dewey reached for his checkbook and Ray stopped him with a smile. "Let's take a walk to the ATM machine. okay?"

Dewey pouted. "What's the matter Kowalski; don't you trust me?"

Ray laughed and slapped him on the back. "No."

***************

The little bell chimed as Renny entered Miss Molly's Collectibles. Miss Molly looked up and smiled. "Hello Constable Turnbull. Did you change your mind about the Rhett Butler doll?"

Renfield carefully opened the box he was carrying and laid his Scarlett O'Hara barbie on the counter. He sighed mournfully and said, "I was wondering if perhaps you would be interested in purchasing this. As you can see she's in excellent condition, and I have the original box."

Miss Molly picked up the doll and examined it. "I can't believe you want to part with this, Constable. I remember how thrilled you were when you bought it."

Renfield lovingly fingered the green dress. "I'm afraid it's necessary. Are you interested?"

"Well. . " Miss Molly began doubtfully, but Renny's soulful, puppydog stare touched his heart. "Oh all right. I can give you $150 for it and no more. You did take it out of the box."

Bouncing with joy, Renny grabbed his hand and shook it vigorously. "Thank you, Miss Molly! That's perfect! Ray's going to be so pleased."

He dashed out of the shop and down the block to Leiger's and the speakers of Ray's dreams.

**************

Several hours later, Ray held the Rhett Butler doll in his hands, with a satisfied smile on his face.

Miss Molly was giving him a very odd look. "Are you sure you want that?"

"Yeah, I'm sure," Ray said defensively. "I've got the money to pay for it." He laid the cash on the counter. Smiling happily, he turned to leave and noticed a Scarlett O'Hara Barbie displayed on a shelf. "Hey, look at that. It looks just like Renny's."

Miss Molly fumbled for words, uncertain what to say in the situation. Before he could make up his mind whether to tell Ray the truth or not, the detective had rushed out of the store.

****************

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas. . "

"Shut up, you little freaks!! It's 7 o'clock in the morning!" Ray screamed, hurling a shoe out the window at the carolers.

"Ray, it's Christmas," Renny chided, stretching langorously in bed. He glanced at the clock. "Oh my! It is 7 o'clock! I've got to get the turkey in the oven." He jumped up, through on his robe and headed for the shower.

Taking advantage of his mate's absence, Ray opened his sock drawer and removed a festively wrapped present. He hurried into the living room and put it under the tree.

"Hey Renny, let's open presents!" he called.

Renny rushed past him to the kitchen. "One minute, Ray. I need to put the turkey in. I prepared everything last night, I just have to put it in the oven."

Grumbling impatiently, Ray paced the floor until he returned.

"I'm ready. What shall we open first?"

Ray picked up a small box, wrapped in paper resembling the Canadian flag. "I think this one's for you."

"Ah, it's from Uncle Chester." Renny carefully removed the bow and pulled at the tape on the wrapping paper.

"Just rip it!"

"For what?" Ray demanded impatiently.

Renny smoothed the paper out and laid it and the bow on the sofa. He open the box and held up a string of wooden beads. "It's a string of Inuit fertility beads! Isn't that nice?"

"What the hell kind of present is that?" Ray demanded.

"It's the thought that counts, Ray."

"What the hell was the thought?"

Renny quickly picked up a large blue box and gave it to Ray. "I think this one is from your parents. It's heavy enough to be a bowling ball"

Ray tore the paper off and threw it on the floor. "It is a bowling ball! This is a present that can be used every day!"

"Every day?" Renny asked nervously.

"Well, maybe every couple of weeks."

He handed another present to Renny. "This one's from Fraser and Vecchio."

As Renny unwrapped it, he asked, "Did you remember to give them our present? I hope they like it. I thought a pasta maker would be a nice gift for their new house." He frowned as he looked at the contents of the box. "What is this?"

Ray held up the contraption speculatively and then started laughing. "It's a fur-lined trapeze! Now this is a gift that we can really use every day."

Renny turned his brightly blushing face away from Ray. He went to the hall closet and pulled out a very large box. "This is my gift to you."

Ray dropped the trapeze and ran over, his eyes as big as saucers. "Wow, it's huge. What is it?"

"Open it and find out," Renny ordered, clasping his hands together in delight. His eyes sparklied as Ray shredded the paper to get at the gift. Ray's expression changed when he saw the speakers. "Don't you like them, Ray?" Renny asked anxiously.

"I love them." Ray stood up and embraced him. "Where'd you get the money? I thought you were broke."

Renny shrugged. "That's not important. Shall we hook them up to your stereo?"

"Wait, wait," Ray said hastily. "You have to open my present first." He ran back to the tree and retrieved his gift. He handed it to Renny with a shy smile.

Renny accepted it. "Thank you, Ray. Oh, this is lovely paper! Wait a minute, what are those reindeer doing? Ray!!"

"It's novelty gift wrap, okay? Just open it!"

He obeyed. His eyes widened when he saw the contents. "The Rhett Butler Ken doll! How did you manage to afford this?"

"Don't worry about it, Renny. Let's see how Rhett and Scarlett look together." Ray stopped in front of the curio cabinet. "Hey, where's Scarlett?" He turned to Renny confused.

Renny clutched the Ken doll tightly. "This is a wonderful gift, Ray. I love it."

"Renny?"

"I sold the Scarlett doll to buy the speakers." He held up his hand to prevent Ray from interupting. "I wanted to do it. Seeing you happy is much more important to me than a thousand barbie dolls."

Ray spread his hands helplessly. "Renny, Renny.. I sold the stereo to buy the Ken doll. I knew how much you wanted it and I had to get it for you."

Tears sprang into Renny's eyes. Ray scratched his head sheepishly. The two stared at each other for a moment and then Renny started giggling. Soon Ray joined in. Renny crossed the floor and drew Ray in for a bearhug.

"I love you," Renny said.

"This is the best Christmas ever."

"Yeah, it sure is. You know Renny, there's only one thing that could make this better.. "

"Sex under the Christmas tree?" Renny suggested hopefully.

Ray pulled off his boxers and threw them into the air. Renny pulled off his robe, carefully folded it and laid it on the sofa.

"We're like day and night," Ray sighed.

"Day and night complete each other," Renny agreed.

A Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
