The Gay Pen Web Ring is exclusively for non-commercial web sites that are designed primarily to present writing done by, for or about the Gay Male. This ring is intended to promote and provide exposure for gay authors of fiction (erotic and otherwise), biography, autobiography, poetry and experimental written works with appeal to the Gay Male population.

Participation rules:

• The site must be owned by the author and contain his/her writings.
  
  
• The autor's writings must have the same prominence (indexing and display) as any other content he/she presents at the site.
  
  
• Written material supplemented by photos is acceptable.
  
  
• Presentation of selected writing by others is acceptable.
  
  
• Sites with material in languages other than English are welcome to join but must present at least 50% of their works in English or with alternate English translation pages.
  
  
• AVS sites are eligible.
  
  
• Pay sites are not eligible.
  
  
• Sites with excessive advertising banners and/or pop-ups (just trying to sell the surfer a pay site or two or twenty) are not eligible even if access if free.
  
  
• Sites which are only a collection of other's works or an index of other's gay writings are not eligible.

That ugly task out of the way - - - here is the information on how you can add your qualified site to the ring or nominate a site for participation.

To nominate a site please email the ring coordinator. Do include an email address for the owner of the site you are nominating. He/She will be contacted and offered the opportunity to join the ring.

TO ADD YOUR SITE

• Just go to this web ring's join page and follow the instructions.
  NOTE: If you are not currently a webring member you will be asked to select a name and password (it's free). This allows you to join the Gay Pen Web Ring and any other you find of interest.
  
  
• When you join you can proceed to put the ring navigation code on the page you listed when you joined -- OR -- when your site is approved for membership you will receive an email reminding you to add the ring navigation code to your site.
  
  
• Either way, your site will be reviewed for acceptance based on the membership criteria noted above.
  
  
• When the system checks and finds you have updated your site it is automatically added to the ring.

In addition The Gay Pen Web Ring operates an open email list where both ring members and our readers can enroll and communicate -- about new material added to sites, reader reactions and anything else.
