Welcome to the #phonesexxx homepage!

#phonesexxx - the XXX phonesex channel on IRC is on most US DALnet servers.

PHONESEX SHOULD BE FREE!!!!
Thanks for visiting the homepage for #phonesexxx on IRC - DALnet! We hope you enjoy your stay! Why pay up $5.99/minute for hot phone chat (with a someone who's not really interested in anything but your money) when you can talk to someone real, someone just as horny as you are, and someone who'll do it with you for their own pleasure, not for money? #phonesexxx is the answer! This is the BEST place to meet women and men who like phonesex, and want to do it with you FREE! And guys, I'm here to tell ya, these women like phonesex every bit as much as you do.
Why ANOTHER phonesex channel on IRC? Wasn't #phonesex, and #phonesexx enough?
Well, if you look at the IRC you'll see there are usually a half dozen or so channels on any given subject. Before we started our channel there were only two phonesex channels, so we figure there's room for us too. Besides, although we like the guys (most of them) that run the other 2 channels, we the founders of this channel had some misgivings about the way things were done over at there. Channel #phonesexxx was founded recently in May of 1999 because over at #phonesex and #phonesexx the ops tend to (a.) boot people from the channel for co-channeling elsewhere (which we believe is the chatters business, not ours) and (b.) do their best to suppress the use of telephony (which we believe is the future of telecommunications, and besides, it's FREE - and usually anonymous, perfect for phone sex). But hey, That's OK - that's the way they run their channel, and this is how we run ours. We think the world is better off for the diversity. :)

Here's a happy chatter:
Using Telephony "Tracy" here is having hot "phone-sex" over her computer, without having to use the phone or give out her number. She met this guy, who turns out to have a deep, sexy voice, over the IRC in #phonesexxx - and now he has her almost naked! Her heart's pounding, she's wet as a thunderstorm, and feeling about as electric too! But she doesn't have to worry that "Bill" here seems to be into some kinky stuff, she can give in to the way his perverted fantasies turn her on and play along without fear that "Bill" here will wind up stalking her, because she has taken the precaution of protecting her anonymity. Before telephony, "Tracy's" best bet would have been to get "Bill's" number and call him (dialing *67 first to disable his caller ID) - but then she'd have had to pay the long distance bill! This way she gets to protect herself AND her phone bill. And what she loses in quality, she more than regains in piece of mind. "Tracy" just loves telephony - shouldn't you?
What you need to use Telephony:
Assuming that you are using a pentium computer, or a mac, and that you have enough ram to use the programs, it helps if you have a full duplex sound card, a microphone, speaker or headphones (headphones are best), or optionally a computer headset or handset (a little priceier, but nice). Most people either have a mic built into their computer, as I do, or can buy one for around $10 at Radio Shack, Circuit City, etc. The headphones can usually come off your walkman, so no big fuss there.
Beyond that, you will need a Telephony program, which is the software that you use to transmit voice over the net. There are several that you can use, and the Ops here at #phonesexxx recommend that anyone serious about a little voice chat fun should keep all three of the below listed programs on their system, so that whichever program your chosen partner uses, you will be ready. All 3 do a decent job of transmitting the voice over the web, although I have my favorites. Each product listed below is free, as the Ops at #phonesexxx only lend their private endorsement ot freeware programs.
Visual IRC - By Megalith Software and Adrain Cable
ViRC is a quality program (IRC client) that we feel all serious IRC users should upgrade to. ALthough it is freeware, ViRC has all the earmarkings of a top grade piece of software, including functionality that is STILL not rivaled by the competition despite the fact that Mr. Cable has decided not to work on the project now for about a year. Virc allows all the following plus has a powerful proprietary scripting language allowing modification of the program itself, as well as the creation of various scripts.
Virc allows:
Multiple connections to the same or different servers at one time
Fully configureable IRC responses
Shared Whiteboard chat
TDCC Voice Chat
TDCC VIDEO
About the TDCC voice chat: The nice thing about this capability is that if each user is running Virc a short TDCC voice chat session can be established, which is usefull for, among other things, positively determining the gender of your chat-partner. Once you've heard their voice, you know whether you have a man or woman on the line (unless you happen to be chatting with Madame Butterfly). But I wouldn't recommend using ViRC for phone sex chats, as it's necessary to jockey the volume up and down to avoid squelch, although this is allieviated to some degree if you wear headphones. Otherwise, the interface works sort of like CB. This feature is handy though for finding out if your partner is who you think they are before commititng to calling them, or ending your IRC session. It's also cute to be able to say a quick thing or 2 without having to DCC wav files like you do with Mirc.

FreeTel
FreeTel is a great little program that I like alot. It has a very simple interface and pretty good sound transmission. One problem you may encounter with this program is that if one chatter has a full duplex sound card and the other has a half duplex, the full duplex user will wind up cutting the other off every time, if they happen to speak simultaneously. Still, that little bug aside, this is a great little program that seems to work almost every time. One annoying thing about it however is that is has stuck on top banner ads in the free version. So if you want to blow $40 on the pay version you can disable this, but for me, the ads simply aren't annoying enough to pay for a product I can have free.

Microsoft NetMeeting
This program comes standard on most PC's, but many people don't know it's for voice chat. The program has some advantages, and some drawbacks, but the interface is simple enough, and the real advantage to NetMetting is that it will list those interested in adult chats. The downside is, however, these people are usually busy and will rarely connect with you. Which is how a channel like #phonesexxx greatly enhances the usefullness of this type of program. I also find that I sometimes have less quality or sucesss in connecting using this program. Still, it is usefull, and it's one you can be pretty sure most chatters will have. If you don't already have NetMeeting on your PC, or haven't upgraded it in a while, you can get it from Microsoft at their site. They move the download locations from time to time, so if the below link doesnt get you there start at www.microsoft.com and follow the links from there. Oh yeah, NetMeeting handles Video too :)

And last but certainly not least:
Media Ring Talk 99
Mediaring is a great little program! You get AMAZING transmission quality from this product, largely because it's producers are constanly improving it. It only came out this year and already it is on Version 5.0 - the developers are rabidly enhancing it, and once you download it, you'd do well to run the built in update feature every now and then. I'm not the only person that likes this product, the good people at Tucows gave it FIVE stars! The interface is well beyond easy into the realm of DAMN SNAZZY - it works just like dialing a phone. Now, here may be the one drawback - in order to get a call you have to give your modem line number, but that's it. If your modem number is unlisted, then you're in business. Oh, BTW: MediaRing will be video capable inside the next few releases.

Net2Phone
Only have the modem line, and no long distance service? Got a credit card? Got $25 left before you reach the limit? Then, NO PROBLEM! Get Net2Phone, an innovative service that lets you call any phone (that's right, I said PHONE) in the world from your computer! How? Well, the call begins as a telephony call on your end, but somewhere along the line is translated into a regular phone call. The best part is the rates - VERY hard to beat. Only 5 cents per minute in the US and rates vary abroad, but I think you can call the UK for 10 cents a minute (or what you'd pay AT&T to call the next county). Beware though: you have to PRE-PAY. The minimum is $25.00 and if you only call in the US that's something like 5000 minutes, not bad. Just like regular telephony you need a mic, headphones, and a good sound card. And yes, you do need special software. Like Media Ring, Net2Phone uses a phonelike graphical interface which is easy as can be to use. Just one small note: don't forget your password, there's no way to get it back. This is a good soultion if you either don't have long distance service on your phone or modem line, or if you just want to keep the price down.
