Scott" Once again attempting to play catch up... Not much of real note in Timelash. Peri is completely covered once again (and will remain so throughout the rest of her run :-PPP), although there is a little bit of cleavage visible. Her outfit is by no means unattractive. It actually shows off her figure rather well. Other females is this tale are Katz, the rebel leader and Vena. Both are covered from neck to toe as well, although both are pretty. For those of you into such things, Peri is lead around on a leash for several scenes. In this story, we have another "disgusting-alien-being-who-lusts-after-Peri." This time, at least, it makes sense. The Borad was formerly human(oid). But why does he want to change Peri into one of him? If he can't stand to look at himself in that form, does he think he can handle a half-Peri/half-Morlox? One more odd note. At one point, a guard says that Peri was and "attractive young woman." The android with him agrees: "Yes-in-deed-she-was." Ummm, he's an android with no apparent emotional capabilities. Wow, Peri does have quite the effect on those around her, doesn't she? In Revelation of the Daleks, Peri continues fully covered, but she *is* supposed to be "in mourning." The Doctor even points out the Necrosian rule that "women's legs must be covered at all times." And at least the shade of blue is flattering on her. Other women in the story: Tasambeker is obviously deliberately made plain, so as to be unappealing to Jobel (I don't think *anybody* could look good in that horrid skullcap/hat). We continue with the "rebel babe" theme with Natasha. And Kara's look is just to scary to tell if the actess is attractive. The Doctor and Peri tease each other a bit about their weight. The Doctor thinks Peri should lose a few pounds. And what's wrong with a little meat on them bones? The DJ, as The Continuity Guide points out, is about the only male guest star during Peri's run who "doesn't want to molest [her]." Although when describing her to the morgue's "guests," he does begin with "For those of you appreciative of the female form..." And, last, but certainly not least, the universe's biggest lecher, the man who gave SADWANK the name of its first series of awards, your pal and mine... Jobel! Ye gods, this man is slimy[1]! The blatant drooling over Peri as the Doctor apparently lies under a huge slab of granite, dying horribly! And for some reason, the woman of Tranquil Repose just fawn all over him! Must be pheremones or something. [1] Although I still kept seeing the poor put-upon Richard Bucket from "Keeping Up Appearances." It tends to temper one's view of the character. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Doug A Scott Second-in-Command, Joxer Shields Member of the Gabrielle & Joxer Romantics Society Member of Joxer Enthusiasts Supporting Sapphic Subtext (JESSS) Visit the Doctor Who Chronology at: http://www3.islandnet.com/~dascott/intro.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ONElist: bringing the world together. http://www.onelist.com Join a new list today!
