Heather Smith From: Doug A. Scott [wa929@victoria.tc.ca] Sent: 30 May 1999 02:20 To: Sandwank mailing list Subject: [sadwank] The Trial of a Time Lord: A Sadwanker's View From: "Doug A. Scott" God, this thing's big! And I mean the *story...* I've divided this view into the four smaller stories that make up the whole. 1. The Mysterious Planet The first woman we see in this 14-part epic is the Inquisitor. I have no doubt that she is probably an attractive woman. However, the Official Silly Time Lord Headgear (TM) that has been the norm since "The Deadly Assassin" distracts heavily from the look. Peri, covered again [heavy sigh], has changed her hair a little. It's slightly longer and a bit fuller. I think it looks nice. The only other female of note is Katryca, leader of the Free. A little too matriarchal for me, but a *gorgeous* shade of red hair. No Sadwank moments of note, except perhaps the notion of Peri with multiple husbands, as suggested by Katryca and, later on, Glitz. Any volunteers? :-) 2. Mindwarp In her final adventure, Peri is wrapped up tight one last time. And it's not a very nice wrapping. The pink blouse and blue pants clash a bit to my mind, and the pants are too short; they don't look like they're meant for her. Peri mentions a warlord of Thordon being a "dirty old man," proving once again that *everybody* loves Peri. Except, perhaps, Sil, who finds Peri "repulsive." Finally, a BEM (bug-eyed monster) who doesn't find the human female form oddly irresistable. Good! Back off, she's ours! :-) Crozier's sometimes-assistant, Matrona, might look good, but it's hard to tell with the funny "futuristic" make-up (what is it wth eye-shadow in the future, anyway?). The gold tights are very nice though. We later learn that Matrona is in charge of the serving girls in the Mentor's palace, a fact Peri discovers when Matrona offers her a position. "Do you wish to serve me, Peri?" Ooo-err! Unfortunately, the servant's outfits also completely cover Peri, even moreso than usual with the veil. I'd much rather see Peri dressed as a French maid or something :-) More "Peri in bondage" scenes, as she is strapped to a rock during her interrogation by the Doctor and tied up by the rebels. Her chest tends to heave upwards when chained to the rock. Not sure if I like Peri bald, myself, as she appears after the "brain" transplant. And finally, Kiv comments on his new body, Peri's, that the "body is warm." Well, we could have told you that! :-) 3. Terror of the Vervoids Three, count 'em, three gorgeous women in this one. First off, the new companion, Mel. Now, I realize a lot of people despise Mel, but I've always liked her. But, then, I'm really partial to redheads! Mel's build puts me in mind of Zoe, and to a degree, so does her personality. Petite, slim, cute as a button, perky and devestatingly intelligent (although she never gets any real opportunities to show it), which seems to annoy the Doctor to no end. And she's got a nice butt :-) Mel's yellow jumpsuit with white boots shows off her form to good effect, with several excellent rear shots throughout the story. Our first view as she walks out of the TARDIS console room (to get the Doctor some carrot juice) is lovely. And later as she scrambles up and down the monkey bars in the Hyperion's gym... yum! Next, we have Prof. Lasky, played by Honor Blackman (Cathy Gale on "The Avengers") who looks amazing for her age. (At the library I work at, we have her "stay-in-shape-even-if-you're-getting-old" book. On the cover, she wears a slinky, shape-hugging dress which shows off her legs and a generous amount of cleavage - drool!) Unfortunately, there are no obvious sadwankish moments involving Prof. Lasky, but she still looks great nonetheless. And then there's Janet, the stewardess. (Interesting that by 2986, the politically incorrect "stewardess" is still being used, rather than the currently favoured "flight attendant.") Boy, she's cute! Nice legs, nice ass, and the uniform - tight, short, and white high heels! I like her braid too. We almost get to see right up Janet's skirt as she crouches to clean up the coffee the Mogarian accidentally knocked from her hands. Just a little more, Janet, please! Manditory f/f fantasy: Perhaps after the adventure was finished, Janet might give Mel a "private" tour of the ship. "And these... are my quarters..." [Ngh! Time for a cold shower!] 4. The Ultimate Foe Unfortunately, we don't end the serial with much. Mel doesn't look quite as attractive with her hair up, and the blue outfit doesn't do a thing for her. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Doug A Scott Second-in-Command, Joxer Shields Member of the Gabrielle & Joxer Romantics Society Member of Joxer Enthusiasts Supporting Sapphic Subtext (JESSS) Visit the Doctor Who Chronology at: http://www3.islandnet.com/~dascott/intro.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ What do lizards and rock music have in common? http://www.onelist.com They both have communities at ONElist.
