Was the 'City of Death' discussion considered a success? Are we all meant to be watching 'Planet of Fire' this weekend, or are we just going to leave it to the graveyard of good ideas? In 'Masque of Mandragora' I've chosen a tricky one, because Sarah doesn't do all that much to merit a spanking. This means the events have to be restructured to suit - but not so much that it's an entirely new story! Before we start, a little background continuity. As you all know, by the time of 'Masque' Sarah is a long-time companion, and this means she is no stranger to going across the Doctor's knee. When she wears a skirt or dress the Doctor will lift it to spank her panties; otherwise she is spanked on the seat of her pants. (I have yet to imagine a plausible scenario to have her take them down, other than by ritualizing the spanking itself in a way I find unpalatable.) So, we pick up the story when the TARDIS is diverted into the Mandragora Helix. Sarah, true to her profession as a reporter, is curious about what is out there. The Doctor is less eager to venture outside the TARDIS, but Sarah cajoles him: there is breathable air, Earth-type gravity, etc, so she takes the initiative, pulls the door control on the console and walks out, followed by a cautious Doctor. (I think for this to work we'd have to lose the material in the 'new' console room: Sarah has to be familiar enough with the controls to know what opens the doors. The events in the Helix follow much as in the original program: they are attacked by the ball of Helix energy, which enters the TARDIS unbeknown to them. Once they are back inside, the Doctor chides Sarah about the danger she placed them in. 'Sometimes I despair of spanking sense into you,' he tells her. 'Maybe you'll have to find some other way of dealing with me,' she says cheekily (and, underneath the bravura, anxious to escape going across his knee for once). Anyway, she points out, there's no harm done: they are still alive and well. The Doctor grouchily concedes the point and Sarah breathes a quiet sigh of relief. We move forward to the sequence where Sarah has been hypnotized by Hieronymous, and is stalking the Doctor with a poisoned bodkin. Let's have the final confrontation in private, rather than in the presence of Hieronymous, and have it take place in a room in the palace. As in the original, the Doctor tries talking nicely to Sarah: he is her friend, she doesn't want to harm him, does she? Yes, she does: Hieronymous has done his job well! Sarah lunges at him, and he skillfully deflects her so that he winds up sitting down with her across his lap. The bodkin clatters to the floor. The struggling Sarah reaches out for it, but a flick of the Doctor's toe propels it just out of her reach. Legs pumping furiously, Sarah continues trying to catch the weapon, so the Doctor grabs the hem of her long dress and pulls it over her head so she can't see. He then proceeds to spank her upturned bottom, clad only in white panties. The Doctor's 'shock therapy' begins to take effect. Sarah gradually comes to her senses, painfully aware that she is being spanked. She dazedly pulls her skirt away from her face, looks up at the Doctor and begins a faltering protest. The Doctor explains: she had fallen under Hieronymous' spell, and he had to shock her out of it. Sarah isn't grateful ('Spanked for nothing!'), and her attitude irritates the Doctor: DOCTOR: Nothing, miss? Don't you forget how Mandragora got into the TARDIS to begin with! SARAH: You surely aren't blaming me for that! DOCTOR: Well, if it wasn't your disobedience that got us into this, I don't know what did. Sarah gives a squeak of impetuous fury. The Doctor frowns: 'And since you said I should try something new...' He grasps the waistband of her panties and peels them firmly down, revealing her naked rear, already pink and shiny from the punishment so far. 'Let's see if a spanking on your bare bottom will do the trick.' This he proceeds to administer, to Sarah's obvious discomfort. Minutes later, the Doctor is bringing the spanking to an end. Sarah's cheeks are red (all four of them), and they get redder still when Giuliano walks into the room to ask the Doctor his advice about the masque. With typical aristocratic politeness, he ignores the fact that the Doctor has an evidently uncomfortable companion squirming across his knee. 'Of course you must hold a hop,' says the Time Lord; 'Sarah will love it.' Sarah pouts ruefully. 'Put it this way,' she says, 'I won't be sitting out a single dance.' The last of the poll results, but Spanking Adventures *may* return if other list members are still interested to see them.
